JULY 2010

Dear Parents/Carers,

We hope you are all looking forward to the six week holidays.  It’s that time again; the end of the school year and the time for many goodbyes as a large number of the children move on to new schools and take their parents with them. It will be sad to see both the children and their parents leaving.  We say goodbye to Kristian and Angele who have already left for a long holiday and to Cameron, Shenyne, Rosie, Oliver, Fabio, Ollie, Skye, Sofie, Orla, Yashvi, Benjamin, Edward, Alex, Sara, Elsa, Faith, Aslan and Amaya We would like to wish them all great happiness and pray that God will be with them, guiding them into their future. Should you get a chance to visit the setting it would be wonderful to see you.

If your child is leaving and is not on this list could you please inform Michelle as soon as possible.

Message for Parents ~ I would like to take this final opportunity to send a big thank you to all those parents that have helped during their child’s time in pre-school with collecting sponsor’s and Sainsbury’s vouchers and for giving up their free time to help in the setting.

CHILDRENS REPORTS ~ These will be given out on July 16th, should you wish to discuss these with your child’s keyworker please speak to them to make an appointment.

RAINBOW DAY ~ This was a great success with the children wearing many colours and making the pre-school a very bright place to be, could you please return sponsor monies collected as soon as possible. A big thank you to those that have already returned their monies so far we have raised £235 which will help to buy some new dressing up clothes.

OFSTED ~ As part of our wish to continually improve our setting we have pulled together a questionnaire for staff, parents and children to complete regarding their opinions on the setting. A copy of the parents questionnaire was attached to the last newsletter but so far only 3 have been returned. Thank you to those parents that took the time. To gain a wider view of parents opinions could I ask other parents to take a little time to fill these in.  Please remember for us to improve honesty is the key. Thank you for your time in completing this.

SEPTEMBER TERM ~
Welcome day for new children and their parents will be on Monday 6th September
Our first day back for all returning children will be on Tuesday 7th September

LAST WEEK OF TERM

IF CHILDREN DO NOT NORMALLY ATTEND THESE SESSIONS THEN WE WOULD STILL LIKE THEM TO COME TO EVERY EVENT. BECAUSE OF NUMBERS YOU MAY HAVE TO ATTEND TOO. PLEASE SPEAK TO MICHELLE

Fire Station ~ On Monday 19th July at 2.00 o’clock we will be visiting the local fire station. We are all looking forward to our annual visit and hope that both the children and parent/carers attending enjoy the event.  Those who are able to come, please arrive at the pre-school at 1:30. Letters attached and permission slips need to be returned or your child will not be allowed to attend.

Teddy Bears’ Picnic ~ On Tuesday 20th at 11.00 am to sit and eat at 12.00 o’clock, we would like to take the children into the church gardens for a picnic (weather permitting). The children will need to bring their favourite Teddy or Doll and a packed lunch. You are invited to come along.

Leaving Party ~ On Wednesday 21st at 12 o’clock our leaving party will begin with everyone sitting down for party food and then dancing and games to take place afterwards. We ask all parents not to send in a packed lunch but to contribute party food for all the children of which there are 34. Please could you fill in the food list on the notice board outside the pre-school in the corridor.

Leaving Service ~ On Thursday 22nd at 2.00 o’clock there will be a service in St Mary’s church which we hope you will all attend, after which leaving certificates and leaving presents will be handed out in church.  All are invited back to the pre-school for tea and biscuits. Please go straight to the church for 1.50 pm.

Soup Lunch ~ This is for all parents and children to attend. On the last day of school the children and staff will be preparing a soup lunch with fresh baked rolls and freshly made soup which will be served at 12 o’clock. This will be your last chance to exchange numbers and addresses with friends that have been made as we are not allowed to pass on these details, so please do not ask. Pre-School will be closing at 2 o’clock on this day.
